Hi members hope all is well. Just got back from TRNC after 2 weeks. Our Arcelik fridge Freezer has broken down. We bought it 7 years ago for £800 and now a new one cost £1200 . It will not make ice and also not cooling stays warm however does come on when switched. Just wanted any advice from members whether to repair or purchase a new fridge freezer. It would be appreciated for any advice suggestions please ?

Sounds like it has lost its gas, similar to an air-con.
Because of its age I doubt it uses the recent greener gas so maybe nt repairable unless you can find an old style repairer who has some of the old type gas.

Trouble is if you call makers when gets past certain time they just say no repairs but an independent person will still do if possible

Have you checked the fan that blows air over the cooling radiator for free movement. Fluff can build-up and slow the whole process. You may need to unscrew the panel covering the 'gubbins' after unplugging of course.

As mentioned, my first step before getting someone out would be to pull the fridge out and vacuum the coils etc at the rear. Parts should not be an issue for most things, a compressor, filters, regassing etc. My 20 old Samsung has failed three times. Fortunately I have been able to repair it myself but the parts were only available in the
