DAMAGED INTERRUPTION (KIRNE DISTRICT)
Due to the fire that occurred on 04 June 2024 Tuesday, as of 17:43 electricity; Çamlibel, Tepebaşı, Koruçam, Akdeniz, Kayalar and Sadrazamköy, INS Military Union, Özhan, Hisarköy, Shirinevler, Kılıçarslan, Akçiçek, Selvili Tepe, Goçeri, Da izyolu, Kozanköy and Alemda Kür, Bo öyaz Police Lodges and the area between Karter Barracks and Fikret Kurşat lands are not provided. Electricity has been restored to the region as of 18:55.

The hour-long switch offs appear to have started in anger... so the fire is not the only cause.

We had an hour long power cut this morning. An improvement on the whole day I suppose, still not really acceptable.

I’m sure all these people buying the new build villas and apartments at extortionate prices will be delighted when reality hits home. By which time, they’ll have paid their money so too late!

There have been several fires, another one today somewhere affecting power for Tatlisu/Kucuk Erenkoy. We were supposed to have a planned outage anyway betw 10 and 2 I think, don't suppose that will be cancelled.
Of course they could also be doing hourly power cuts around the country, as they have so many times in the past.

Malatya, we also had two cuts. One in the morning and one at 8.30pm.
If cutting the power for one hour is the ONLY solution Kibtek management can come up with to sort the problem of shortage of power supply to its customers. Then look to changing their management team, and that doesn’t mean with new family members!!!!

What I don’t understand is why they don’t tell people

They don't tell you because knowledge is power! It is the same with water, sometimes it's on and sometimes it's not - you just have to guess which it is going to be this day or week!

I don't want to sound pessimistic but climate change at it... fires, shortages... now it's an inconvenience but soon it'll be worse.

It's a vicious cycle, more heat, more fuel needed for a/cs, fuel emits carbon, etc. etc.

In the local newspaper Kib-Tec are saying everything is fixed, no more power cuts, i the same paper the unions are saying, management are telling porkies

Ah, but Kibtek knows when they are going to turn off the power - hence knowledge is power! With the water, it seems that the Beli don't know there has been a power cut and that the pumps need to be turned back on again - or they could care less provided they are not affected - hence no knowledge is power as well - lol. Power cut on Friday - water off, Saturday no water, Sunday no water, Monday - who can tell what will happen or if there is another sudden public holiday or just it's too hot to bother..... Strange that it is like this every year....

As of 15:50 due to a malfunction in the high voltage electricity grid on Sunday, June 09, 2024; West of Tekneci, Acapulco Junction and Peace Beach Area, Çatalköy Public Beach and Çatalkoy North Beach, Muhimmat Division, Arapköy, Chelsey Village Area and Arapköyy Water Pump, East of Çatalköyy, Özyalçın Evdim Houses, Emtan, Eurocost, Çetin Atalay, Laden Sites Area and Martyr's Child plots, Tarsan Farm and its surroundings, Beşparmak Village, Mill Quarry, Facilities and Water Engines, Flame Rock, Plateau and Levent Quarry, Beşpormak Village Road (except inside the village), Teknecik Region and East, Akgünler Gas Station. Electricity cannot be provided to Region, Davutköy, Alagadi Region, Golf Course and its surroundings, Karaa Sahaç Sahil Sites Region, Kara ompaç Village Road and Kara öya ,aç Village, Karaaç Water Pump, Esentepe Beach, Esentepa Inner Village, Soccer Field Area and Water Pump, Escentepe East Coast, Garden Village, Garden Water Pump and Garden Beach Area. Work has been started to detect and fix the defect.
UPDATE: The outage has been detected and all areas are expected to be energized around 6:30 p.m.
All zones have been energized as of 18:42.

According to the course of work, electricity may be provided later or earlier than the specified time, so it is advised to treat the grid as if there is electricity at all times. Just came back.on out for c 10 hours..

It's bad enough when it's just for a couple of hours, but any longer in this heat is unbearable. Tatlisu was off for in excess of 21 hours the other day, it was absolutely horrendous. I couldn't even go out or sit with AC on in the car, as I'd lent my car to a friend for a few days. A bear with a sore head would have been friendlier!
Whilst it was awful for all of us in this area, it must have been so much worse for those dealing with the fire up in the mountains and Kibtek workers trying to restore power. I am grateful to all of them. Just shows that there is always someone much worse off.
