Good morning
We have a payment on our water bill which comes under the title "Emlak var" which I take to be property tax. Is this a monthly payment as I thought this was justed charged annually. Would appreciate any advise on this.

In Çatalköy/Esentepe region the monthly tax for rubbish collection, etc is 459.78TL. This is in addition to the annual property tax (taşinmaz malin vergi).
The monthly tax may vary depending on region.

Emlak ver is your annual property tax paid to your belidere and passed on to central government
Due from April, can be paid in two 50% payments.

That will explain why our Water Bill this month is over 1,072

I’m not sure that is correct.
We also have Emlak ver on our bill every month.
It’s waste removing and garden rubbish I was told

Ah confusing. So what is Hizmet Resmi then? I thought that was services, rubbish collection etc.

Bele website and paypoint have payment portals to pay water and property tax, if you have the account numbers, so I imagine they are two separate bills.

It is but often the print doesn't line up.
Emlak var is definitely the yearly tax

I think a visit to office in Alsancak is called for. Im confused now.

Alsancak Emlak account number is TLA.......
SU account number is 01............

Went into Alsancak office to pay latest bill this morning which stood at 1,24,37tl He explained the following as per the receipt print out.

Su kul Bedeli 377.73tl
Hizmet Bakiye 432.00tl
Hizmet Resmi 429.90tl

Hizmet Resmi and Bakiye are combined on the receipt He also said this will have to be paid every two months and is road sweeping, bin emptying, cutting down overhanging trees when necessary, cutting grass etc close to roads, mozzy spraying anything/anywhere you see a vehicle with LAC on it.

Hizmet Resmi Is on our bill every month and has been since it was introduced. I was told incorporates clearing garden waste from road side, where people dump it. It’s in addition to all you have said.

Our tax is paid separately not on bill …..

In Çatalköy theres a annual property tax paid in April and included on the monthly water bill a fee for rubbish collection, street lights etc.
The same used to be in Ozanköy which comes under Girne.

I did say that I disagreed with the bill as I was positive I had paid first half year property tax back in April on a separate bill. He was adamant I hadn't (can't find the receipt either) and with new LAC arrangement I have to pay every third month for everything. I'm beginning to think the towns that have been more financially viable over the years, are having to bail out the towns i.e.Lapta that were badly run. Could be wrong but it is beginning to look like it. As one waiter said a months or so ago , "People who live in Alsancak are rich people" A Jaw dropping remark as far a I'm concerned.
