I had a few electric accounts to pay so attempted to pay via Cyprus paypoint . The first one went through fine but then the second 2 both cancelled after card verification..
A few hours later I received this message from kibtek (translated )
Dear Subscriber, we kindly inform you that you should not make any payment transactions on any site other than our Kıbtek Online payment page (online.kibtek.com) and your bank's payment channel, and especially not using your IBAN and/or personal information
I'm wondering if cypruspaypoint is secure ?

I have got the same message direct, without trying to use paypoint,
I think that paypoint take a fee and Kibtec want 100% so will have to deal direct I think.

Noticed that paypoint were charging for payments to kibtek. So paid direct on kibtek site. Never had any problems paying bills with paypoint, just didn't want to pay extra as little as it may have been.

Sorry, senior moment. This may have been a Turkcell payment.

They make no reference to Paypoint.

I had the same message.
No problem - but often the online Kibtek payment system fails during the payment authentication process which is why I have used Paypoint system regularly as back-up (it works without any indication of charges).

Probably my pay point declined payments where a coincidence ...
Perhaps they only allow 1 payment to 1 account to prevent fraud .

Strange that Kibtek have not made any mention of Paypoint as it covers phone, kibtek and many of the beles, and many of us have used it successfully barring the occasional glitch.

I had a random text message from them today. Didn’t bother translating it. Bit of a cheek considering we were in the the middle of an almost 4 hour powercut at the time so had no internet anyway.
I know it’s a bit radical, but perhaps if they made Ercan, some govt depts, hotels an casinos pay their bills...

It seems clear from the various messages that spoof websites have proliferated, purporting to be valid payment portals... be very careful. I would suggest using the electric company's own site when in TRNC is safest option but this will not work when out the country, then when you use PayPoint make sure it's the genuine article... definitely don't use sites asking for iban etc.

No problem with paypoint ..
Just my old age ...I tried to pay again the other accounts then realised it had saved my expiry date on my credit card wrong ...so that was the reason it declined .
