Closure of ileli restaurant

I hear that the restaurant and coffee bar attached to Ileli supermarket closed today. Friends went in for usual coffee and bun only to be told that that staff had been fired and as of this morning the restaurant and coffee shop were closed. I used the coffee shop plus food couple of times per week, very sorry. They had first class staff and will be missed. I realise with prices going up and up very difficult to run a business. Min wage going up 4 times per year, so every 3 months up they go, unsustainable. Ie potatoes now 100 lire Turkey 10 lire.

Unfortunately I think a lot more will join them, people just can not afford luxuries at the moment. Most places who used to cope with 1 or 2 busy sessions a week now need more. Quality will drop too to try and make a living.
Then with winter on it's way will definitely not help.
I bet rent is the biggest killer

Inflation coming down in turkey .trnc it's self inflicted by populist political policy .for an economy reliant on incoming tourism & education it's suicidal . People prefer the likes of Italy for the same price any competitive advantage has gone the quality of the restaurants here is poor use to be ok when it was cheap...

Hope so but seems a silly time to do renovations when holiday makers are here as well as their regular clientèle

Regular clientele which was becoming virtually invisible sometimes.

Very sad if it's closed as it was very good food, pleasant staff, clean and above all reasonable prices. Use it or lose it springs to mind

Reasonable prices in the coffee shop went to pot one day. Three of us refused to pay a triple price increase on the coffee and price dropped two days later. The price increase on the cakes was a par with most other similar places, but size of slice was nearly halved. Plus the day they stopped putting any prices on the menu is the day I stopped ordering food. Being told to use my mobile phone to check prices did not impress me. I agree about the staff and I sometimes felt they were a bit embarrassed. Sorry but there you are.

I agree with the phone for a menu but refused and asked for a proper menu and got one. Cheese and bacon toastie in normal sized bread with chips and salad 260 tl is the cheapest I found anywhere and delicious.

There will be more closures at this rate especially in the winter and job losses inevitable

They had such a good vibe and great staff. It's tough out there with costs rising like that.
