You can now subscribe to NTV (by Multimax) and have the choice to pay monthly instead of year upfront.

Prices effective as of February 1st, 2013 is as follows:

Premium UK TV Package - 34 Euros / month (~29GBP) --- Currently includes 64 channels includes: BBC, ITV, Sky, Sports, Movies and more, see channel list here: http://ntv.mx/?c=2&a=0&p=10

SetTopBox purchase price - 150Euros (~130GBP) --- Includes 1 year limited warranty.

Optional Installation - 50Euros (~43GBP) --- Self Installation possible

----

In addition, you are no longer required to have a Multimax Internet in order to use NTV. Recent advanced network improvements to NTV system allows the system to work with internet connections as low as 1Mbps anywhere in the world! Perfect way to check if your internet is suitable for NTV is to go to our website and click on the online demo feed. If you can watch this feed on your computer with no issues, NTV should work equally well. http://www.ntv.mx

Please contact us at info@ntv.mx if you have any further questions or 0548 844 0249 (pre-sales inquiries, business hours only)

I am sure that this new offer would interest a couple of my part-time neighbours but the problem remains their internet connection. There is no offer of a part-time internet connection to partner NTV and I understand the difficulty. So it remains that their only recourse is to the Turkcell/Telsim dongle.

Is the actual transfer speed of a dongle sufficient to support NTV? What sort of impact would NTV have on the gb download limit applied by these companies? Please can you give an estimate of the gb consumption of (say) 10 hours of NTV viewing?

There are couple of speeds offered over dongle and if you are in full 3g coverage you can get speeds upto 7mbits and if thats consistent, it is more than enough speedwise for NTV. It should be noted that NTV requires (like all other streaming) a consistent and reliable line. Average speeds do not mean much. The best way to check if NTV is suitable for your internet connection is to watch 'Live Demo' on our website for 10-15 minutes to see if you experience any issues. http://ntv.mx

The biggest issue with dongle is the limit on your download. A 10 hour NTV feed would need approx 2.5GB of data. You are better off to get a MM connection for one year. With upto 6 months freeze allowance, it definitely comes cheaper.

Hi Kemal this is very interesting. Is the new set top box priced at £130 different in any way from the set top box I purchased in November for £250? and the channels at £348 as opposed to £350 I paid? Also could I revert back to my 2 meg internet instead of paying for 5meg?

thanks
Mick

First of, the current new price is 174GBP as opposed to 250GBP, because you need to include installation on first because if was on the second, there is a difference in 76GBP, and there is a reason for it.

Also, the current UK Premium Package and its price is not the same package as you have subscribed.

Existing customers will receive an email in a day or so explaining this better but here is the highlights.

Existing customers who signed up before Feb1:
*SetTopBox comes with lifetime unlimited warranty as long as you stay as a customers, if it breaks, we replace it.
*Customers received either free upgrade from 2mbit-4/5mbit or received 3 months free if they are already on 4/5mbits (90GBP value)
*All customers who has signed up before 1st Feb are the only ones who had the opportunity to pick up the Unlimited Package. What this means is that all existing and newfeatures (such as recording, video club, other additional functions that we 'may' charge extra for) we end up putting on NTV, existing customers will get them at no additional cost. Existing customers will also get all the packages (for example HD versions of channels, special channels, UK radio, other packages with english content, or content in any other language) you will receive all of them. we are not saying these will cost more for new customers, we are just guaranteeing it will never cost extra for existing customers.

@mickhm, we currently need 1MB for our existing channels, and I guess you can downgrade if you wont be using Internet at the same time, or downloading content to USB while watching another channel at the same time etc. Its upto you.

Is it a minimum 12 month contract or can you pay for a month and then disconnect (until next visit)?

Can you record tv programmes, like you can with a sky box?

You can record using the set top box but you do have to plug in a USB storage device into the set top box to do so. Either a USB memory stick or a USB external hard drive.

You can record one channel whilst wacthing another but not more than one at a give time.

With the set top box there is also a 7 day catch-up facility on selected channels as well as a download option for those channels, where you can choose to etiher just watch or download (again to an attached USB storage device) a program after it has been broadcast for up to 7 days after it has been broadcast.

Still a little concerned with the new set top box you say you receive 64 channels which is what I have at the moment and unfortunately due to a mix up when I ordered, my account was not activated and I had to instal my box myself (is there a refund?) When I got my package I was told a 12 month warranty on the set top box
I did get the free upgrade to 5mb until my renewal in March which was the main cause of the problem as I was not upgraded and was trying to watch NTV on my 2md connection
Although the reception did improve it was still very flaky despite waiting till you December upgrade and now waiting for the February upgrade.
I must applaud your efforts as I have only been missing 1 channels for the last 2 days and the faltering seems to be under control. I do feel that I am being a little "cheated" with the lower prices being offered to new customers with a little vague promise that I will not be charged extra for new added facilities such as HD (I have a good old fashioned CRT which I think gives better picture quality than flat screen lcd)

Still cannot fault your internet though. Excellent quality and excellent value
Best wishes
Mick

Isn't this often the case when early buyers pay more for a new product than those that can wait for it to become established? You just bought the latest laptop and out comes a better one and yours becomes cheaper to buy? That's the way of the consumer world we live in. I imagine NTVs unit costs are coming down now that they have more subscribers and they are passing this benefit on.

Hi TRNC Vaughan, ordinarily I would agree with you. However if having purchased this "laptop" after trying to use it for 4 days to find that some of the keys would not work and some of the features such as sound were intermittent and you complained to the supplier to be informed that these features had not been activated but they would be very soon.

If after this you found that some features had returned but others had been lost and you kept complaining until you got an e-mail to say that there was problems but don't worry we won't charge you till it's sorted then when the time came you received another mail to say they need more time then just when it is all sorted (except essentepe area) that anyone wanting the lap top now could have it cheaper! I think even a sophisticated chap like you would feel a little miffed

best wishes
Mick

Providing you have a reasonable internet speed, you can stream a basic UK TV package for free:

This service works via an internet connection so it will work anywhere you have a good enough internet connection. You can test if your internet connection is good enough by trying the demo at http://www.ntv.mx

Multimax itself can provide internet access in Geçitkale but the TV service can be used with any internet connection of sufficent speed.

Hi Erol,

what about me in Dipkarpaz?

I clicked on the link for the demo, but could not find it, probably me not to see the obvious.
I use Digiturk for TV and Nethouse for internet and I'm not sure, what my limits are.

We no longer require our customers to have a Multimax connection for NTV service. Any internet connection that allows you to watch the live demo is good enough.

Attention of KBASAT I have just returned from UK and whilst away for husband had Multimax TV and wireless network set up for me. It has been in two week. I have never heard from them that programmes are going off, have not been able to get sky news for about 10 days. My husband cannot use internet i.e. emails but could someone from your company take down my phone number 0533 8557743 or my e mail ritaontherocks@hotmail.co.uk and let me know whether as we paid quite a bit 2 weeks ago, do we get a refund now, also let me know about sky news. You may have answered all this but I have only been able to get on kibkom today as thought I had lost password. I am an English speaker but if it helps my husband on 0533 8404781 is a Turkish speaker. Hope the above makes sense.

At 2.14 today I posted something for multimax on this forum and within an hour and a half I have had a call from them and have to say how efficient and helpful the gentleman was, think his name was Erol. After 27 years here I have become used to bad service etc., goes along with the territory I always think, but this service I received today was amazing - an hour and a half - I can't believe it. Thank you. Shows how great this forum is as well.

Thank you for the response mate, maybe if you could consider a mixed package of English and Russian speaking channels we would sign up to that straight away.

Until then Russian live TV gives plenty of Free Russian TV channels online.
