I don't they ever made pork pies, Pork pie crust is the very devil to produce correctly and I've never seen a decent one on this side. There was one place that tried, but yee Gods the crust was as hard and tasteless as Hadrians Wall and the meat bland. I tried once and that also was unsuccessful.

Ha well you are probably correct but I have to say, I don't sell them but can make the best pork pies, hot water pastry of course with lard, 5 different cuts of pork, flavoured jell. Don't want to brag but they are the best, but require a lot of effort lol.

You see, you shouldn't have said that........................you are going to bombarded with requests now. I don't go down South, but can't remember anyone who does, mentioning they had seen a "proper" pie there either.

I make them reguarly. Very easy. Various types inc Large gala pies with egg. 1.5 KG. Herb Jelly. But i no longer sell them due to ridiculous inflation making it uneconomical.

Also of course we lost our wonderful Pork shop in Alsancak. There did used to be alady on Lambousa who made adecent Pork Pie. Not sure if shes still there.

Best Butcher ozankoy does all kinds of cuts of pork, plus he sells lard, essential for pork pies. I get all my cuts from him, perfect.
