Canada Pension

Are there any Canadians living in North Cyprus that are receiving their pensions via direct deposit? If so, in which currency? I was told by the pension office that I could receive in either Euros or Turkish Lira but not Canadian dollars even though I have all 3 accounts at Iş Bank. I chose Euros and they tried twice to send my pension but it got sent back. The cheque is on the way by mail but the fees to cash it here will eat up about half the value. Thanks
