The checks will be at the same hospital as usual. Only difference being that it is now under new ownership and is called Kolan British Hospital.

I did the mens check about 3 years ago, I think, and it is really a must for everybody. As our bodies get a bit older there are things that we may have gone to see our GP or practice nurse in UK and get them checked out, here we ignore them hoping they will go away.

I know a coupleof people who did the checks and unkown to them they had malignant growths that may have killed them. My other half had a growth removed after being found in the check up that fortunatley proved to be benign but who knows.

We were at the hospital yesterday having routine follow ups. There are some new doctors that repeaters will not know but you will remember the superb Huri & Zali who speak perfect English and will guide you through all the stages and will interpret where clinical need requires it. There is also another young lady we met yesterday, Emine, who unless you come from North London you may have difficulties following. (Oh dear I feel a thick ear coming my way). Actually for me seeing the doctors is secondary!!!!!!!!

So come on ladies, Chris has got this organised for you, she knows the benefits and would not bother if she did not. Give Chris a call now, but please not after 5pm, or e-mail to make an appointment.

I wrote my own exploits doing my first check on NCFP so if anyone is bored I will find it for you to read. Usually there are a few of you booked in at the same time so you go around together, I find that in itself a cathartic experience sharing each others potential issues.

n 2010, 49,564 women and 397 men in the UK were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.
In 2010 there were 11,633 deaths from invasive breast cancer in the UK.
In 2005-2009, 85% of women in England survived their invasive breast cancer for five years or more.
In 2010, 5,765 women and 26 men in the UK were diagnosed with non-invasive breast cancer.

These stats were taken from Cancer UK's website! Food for thought ladies.

Oh dear, I posted on the 'old'Kibkom. Poor soner has been working so hard to get all this sorted and some things have fallen by the wayside. Just wanted to say thanks for the stats. I read somewhere that 14 million new cases are diagnosed each week globally. Phew. Scarey stuff, so great that people can get checked out here.
