I just paid my electricity bill through Cyprus Paypoint. New site layout, paid my phone bill yesterday, the icon for Telsim is at the bottom of the page. The one you see immediately is Turkcell, but scroll down a bit and Telsim is there.

Have Kibtek raised price? My bill has quadrupled since last month. I was expecting it to be more as it's been quite cold, but hadn't anticipated such a jump.
Not paid as still showing not owing anything on Paypoint as yet.

Ours has gone up 55%. I am really, really careful and to be honest we are bloody cold. 7,593tl and I just can't figure out the reason. Would Kibtek come out do you think, if I felt that next door were running off our supply. We share the same box outside the wall. Is there no longer a cheaper time to use high useage items?

Are you able to ask the neighbours what their electric bill is ?

Ouch BB that is really steep. Mine was 4100 TL, which I thought was expensive compared to last month around just over 1000tl. Afraid there is no cheaper time any more, and indeed it just gets more expensive the more you use. I'd check with your neighbours as to their bill first before contacting Kibtek to check out the meter.
Have you got anything faulty running all the time? I remembered after I posted that I had a leak in hot water tank and water pump was running all the time. I hadn't noticed, and no idea how long it was running, but would explain the big jump in my bill.

I'm going to check with next door, but she is foreign and a bit hyper-sensitive about most things Thanks about suggest and equipment running unnecessary. The only thing I can think of is the pool. Man is coming today and I'll tell him to switch that off. Another thing I've just done is switch the water heater in the garage from Medium to Low.

Electricity of consumers with debts over 675 TL to the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) will be cut off tomorrow.
In a statement made by KIB-TEK, it was announced that the electricity of consumers who have not paid their electricity bills for the period before December, who have a debt of over 675 TL to the institution, and private and corporate subscribers who are in arrears according to the contracts signed with KIB-TEK and installment accounts will have their electricity cut off tomorrow.

Being scammed maybe? I thought I might as well bite the bullet and pay up, I tried to pay direct to Kibtek. The amount came up with the amount I paid back in October, not the amount as per the one that came through as an email two days ago. So I tried Paypoint which was the latest high amount but the mobile phone printed for them to reply to was not and never has been a mobile I have had. A two hour wait in the offices in town I think!!!!

BB, I eventually managed to pay through Paypoint earlier this morning, after a few failed attempts. There was no way in hell that I was heading into Kibtek this morning, I had plenty to do as it was. It's not as if we would get cut off tomorrow, that's for previous months unpaid bills.
Well worth checking on faulty equipment like pumps running all the time. That will teach me to pay more attention and check the damned thing. I got pool man to drop the hours on my pool pump to 2 a few weeks back, it really isn't necessary at this time of year. Best of luck and fingers crossed that you get to the bottom of it.

Every one is saying the bills have gone up but do you actually check the units? Last month all 280 at the first rate 4 something but this month only 211 units were at the first rate as our bill was created 7 days earlier. But we still only used 300 units all month. But 2nd rate is over 8.5tl I think a unit. Only in cold and hot months we use in excess of 250 units
November was also only 30 days and December 31 days.

snd1966 we all acknowledge the bills have gone up, but its the erratic percentages and in my case obvious errors in methods of payment and query of amount. I also appreciate the KW values, but when we are making a huge effort to reduce consumption and being really cold as a result, it makes me furious, particularly when I went into a local bank yesterday. It was gloriously warm and the doors were wide open all the time. !!

BB yes kibtek will come out and check the meter, there is a charge if no fault is found. I had a customer who when the meters were changed , the neighbour's meter went into his name, he was awarded a huge credit and the neighbour had to pay theirs without a payment plan!!!. We had a fire in ours, no charge but another customer they were told no fault, so when they returned home I read the meter with certain appliances on throughout the following weeks and it turned out to be the old fridge.

try switching off your electric in the house fuse box take a look at the meter to see if its still registering units.
Or when it gets dark switch off at the switch near the meter, take note of were the lights go off including neighbours, leave it for 5 minutes see if someone comes to check.

Managed to speak to neighbour, her house is mirror image of ours with two adults during the week and three at weekends. (lodgers from down south. ) Her bill 2,260tl. I said that ours was 7Kplus Her only remark being, we come from cold countries and do not switch on any heaters as we are not cold. I didn't bother to say we only had one Inverter on for a three bedroom house with three bathroom and large rooms but not until 6 at night and we WERE cold. Oh well, we will have to see what happens during this month which seems to be colder than December.
