I have recently had knee replacement surgery and have my police appointment later this month. Is there somewhere to sit whilst waiting or can somebody else go for me?
Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a little cafe very near to the window where you present your papers, you can wait there. I don't know if anyone else can present your paperwork, as presumably the police have to see you to check whether you match your passport photo. Although I do believe there are agents who will do this job or you, so perhaps you can get someone else to present your papers. Think it would have to be a Turkish speaker though.

There are a couple of benches outside the windows my wife normally hands in the documents while I wait on the bench.

There is now a cover over the area where you queue, plus a couple of tables and benches to the side.

Most police stations have some seating, but it can get crowded. Could you call them beforehand and ask if they have a designated waiting area with chairs that are easy to get in and out of? If not, maybe a friend or family member could go for you, but you'd need to give them proper authorization

I'm assuming here you go to Girne Police.

I went for my police appointment today and had no problems.
Once I had checked in I was told by a very helpful police officer to take a seat and she would call me when my documents had been examined.
I was in and out in about 15 minutes, so I worried for nothing.

Did you actually go IN and OUT in Girne?? At 15 minutes that has to be a record - lol.

Yes. I did. There was only one couple in front of me and they had no documents, just passports, so they were sent away.
I was very suprised and pleased, I was expecting a long wait.
