Someone has offered me a 40ins TV at a giveaway price for a bedroom but which will need a new Firestick and possibly a new modem if I want to be able to watch different programmes to the TV downstairs. Now I feel the giveaway TV is going to be too large for upstairs, so will be looking for a much smaller TV. However I'm told by dealers that I will have to purchase a 40ins and above, as smaller screen TV's are not capable of taking Firesticks so I'm not sure what programmes I will be able to obtain. Is this the case, or am I just being conned into a larger screen. They look at me is if a was a nutter. Are You Sure you want a small one, they ask.

They are available online in small sizes I saw a 19" smart tv on Amazon not sure about in the shops here, but all you need for the firestick is an HDMI input on the tv which I would think most tv's now have.

Fire stick will work on any size TV, what they probably mean to say is no one imports small tvs, so your only option is to import a tv from UK or buy a second hand small tv hear if you can find someone selling one

Nah, that's not true. Small TVs can handle Firesticks just fine. Dealers probably just want to upsell you on a bigger one. As long as it has HDMI ports, you’re set. Don’t let them push you into a bigger TV.

Thank you very much for your replies especially to naeem and the offer of a 32ins. However I'm sorted now. You definitely learn something every day e.g. a smart monitor, provided it will take HDM1 can be converted to a TV using a Fire Stick. Obviously the property must have a WiFi/Internet connection, so I bought a 25ins Phillips Monitor with attached stand yesterday which is just ideal.

With the firestick just go into settings and it allows you to adjust for any size screen.
