Hi everyone

I am moving from London to Famagusta in April and I am looking at shipping a Lexus LC500. However, a bit concerned at the lack of Lexus representation in North Cyprus. How do existing Lexus owners manage? Are there any experienced Lexus mechanics and parts providers in the North?

There is a Toyota dealership here, & my understanding is that they would be able to maintain your Lexus.

However, be aware that the supply chain in TRNC for spares etc. is longer than average! - and they are unlikely to have specific spares such as trim etc, in stock for your model.

Thank you. I did email and whatsapp message this Toyota dealer before but never had a response from them so I assumed they had no Lexus service. I am starting to miss British customer service already - at least they don't ignore you!

I would not bother it cost you loads of money to transfer it over then after a year take it out of the country you can’t sell it and after changing over you have to keep it for 3 years

I am moving permanently to North Cyprus from April so intend to keep the car there, so transfer costs will be minimal. What do you mean by keeping it for 3 years? Based on emigrating permanently to TRNC my understanding is that I pay full duty on the car but get exemptions from VAT (around 10% saving on the value of the car) without any restrictions on age.

My daughter imported her car in 2021, paid import fees and was not allowed to sell within 3 years of import date. This law was soon after changed to either 1 or 2 years, not sure.

There are no restrcitions for people permanentlty moving to the TRNC for reselling their imported car. However, things can change. 5-10 years ago someone relocating to TRNC could import their own car free of customs/duty provided they don't resell withn 3 years. Things change all the time with TRNC customs rules.
