There have been no new posts in this section for more than 2 days which is very unusual.

Try looking at “Active Topics” - there you’ll see the latest posts under any topics. There have been a few of late.

Thanks Mowgli but I really meant this particular section. I cannot remember such a long gap before.

The same happened two or three weeks ago and I thought the same as you. Suddenly messages started to come through out of the blue as it were.

Could be. Times are a changing. Don't use, lose it.

But what will ETS and WAZ do if Kibkom folds? Life would be so quiet for them without being able to prove they are the only ones who are right - about anything!
It's the time of year I think that has this effect but we will see - the Swallows will soon be back asking the same questions of "Where can I buy ...." That they asked last year and life will just carry on as normal.
It will be sad if it does fold - all the information over the years will be lost to those who wish to learn.

its too disjointed !!
If topics were more easily catalogued rather than the copious sub titles then sure more responses would be forthcoming

I just look at Active topics and use the search facility if I want to look at anything posted historically.
Personally, I like Kibkom and view it most days.
Thanks to Soner for keeping it going and for all the work it involves.

It has been quiet lately, but it does go through periods like that at times I think. I really hope it does stay, as it's the only forum left for TRNC that I know of. Others have gone many years ago now. I know many use Facebook nowadays, but it's not the same at all. As Soner says, use it or lose it.

"its too disjointed !!" - Then stick to the subject matter of the post title instead of taking the posts into other directions. Should you wish to discuss a related topic then start a new thread - simple!
Most people will normally go directly to "Active Topics" to see if there is anything new, that is very easy to do and then, as "aerhere" says use the search for history.
I find it to be the most useful tool available in the TRNC and find it sad that a lot of information is no longer shared upon it - the world seems to have to Facebook which is apparently easier to use but more open to misuse - personally, because I can type and know how to make full use of the spellchecker, I remain much more a supporter of the Forum style of communication and information dissemination. Keep it going please Soner, as long as you can anyway, many thanks.

I guess an example of why Kibkom appears to be losing traction is my post a couple of weeks ago re a recommendation for an estate agent - it has been viewed over 3,800 times (according to the viewed column) however only 2 people responded (many thanks to them).
There must be dozens of people on here who have moved (or know someone who has moved/sold) and used estate agents that have a recommendation but no one (other than the 2 people) offered a suggestion.
The main threads that get a response seem to be those critical of life in NC and/or the treatment of dogs/cats etc.

I think the Estate Agent thread was a difficult one. You can have a great experience, then recommend them to another and their experience can be soo different. We attempted to use an agent everyone said was great but they tried to rip us off!

I won't recommend anymore! A taxi company I have had wonderful service from for several years and I recommended to a couple of friends, were let down badly by them.

Happy to recommend to anyone - remember, Trust but Verify!!! I have had great service from lots of people here and some rubbish as well, if they are rubbish once then that was their trial run and they failed - no recommendation from me for them to anyone anymore! Happy to recommend a taxi company if you want to fly from the South or if your friends/relatives need a taxi to get them from the South to the North. Can not recommend any estate agent as have never had any dealings with any of them! Will never recommend anywhere (apart from one place that is expensive and for a special occasion for us only) to eat/drink - the quality and quantity changes by the hour - go forth and try, make it an adventure, enjoy life!
Google, Google, Google - the IOT is there for everyone to use so spend some time searching - try and remember what it was you were searching for after you have sidetracked yourself onto something more interesting - go on TRY.

My main motivation for the post was to claw myself up to 2* level something I never managed to achieve in the RAF ! However, the numerous responses have answered my question showing that KIBKOM is reemerging from its temporary hibernation.
I too would be very sad if it were to disappear - I still miss Cyprus44.

I look at Kibkom most days, often more than once a day. I refresh the active topics and read the posts that interest me. I don’t feel the need to contribute regularly.

Asking for Estate Agent recommendations is like asking for recommended criminals.... most peoples' dealings with them leave a nasty taste in the mouth...

So everyone that has sold a property here has been ripped off then Groucho? Whilst this may have some truth to it it is yet again a negative comment on NC and this just backs up my point that Kibkom has become, by and large, a negative comments board.

More a question of Caveat emptor , "Let the buyer beware".
It has become a proverb in English. Generally, caveat emptor is the contract law principle that controls the sale of real property after the date of closing, but may also apply to sales of other goods

Surely it’s not necessary to praise estate agents or lawyers when they actually do what they are paid to do? Isn’t It also fair to criticise when they don’t?

Kibkom I have found a lot of helpful advice, thank you Soner and others.
I do have a Facebook account but very few friends therefore just use to access information. I felt it a must due to kibtek, municipalities all having sites that they respond to quite quickly.
Recommendations, I can definitely understand why people are slow coming forward, often it's circumstances that are completely different to what they helped you with.
Does anyone know where I can get shower door wheel attachments, I have taken the shower door to the original supplier, I was hoping they would have a selection from when they replace an old shower with a new one but advised at this time a new cabin would be advisable.

Am with you on FB Snd, I resisted for a very long time, and for a while was using the anon account that KC provided to access Kibtek. I have no friends on there and keeping it that way, it's purely to access information. My first port of call would be Kibkom as I find it much more user friendly, and over the years, you can build up a relationship with other members.
Recommendations can be tricky, depending on what it is.
Have you tried yapi market or door/flyscreen places for new wheels for your shower door? Or maybe putting a separate new post on here so that it isn't missed for recommendations as it would be more obvious than in this thread.

Had new wheels installed at the same time as new rubber seals to our shower cabin that was supplied and fitted by PakDus in Catalkoy. Web Site -
https://www.aquabanyostore.com/ excellent work and cleared up after as well. Can't remember the price but for sure we thought it was very cheap! Will be fitting a new shower unit complete later this year and would not use anybody else to do this. Recommended.
Hope they can help you.
