So now that Skype is becoming redundant, does anyone here have any experience of Yolla or Talk 360 for cheap International calls?

Nothing seems to be as cheap as Skype unfortunately, especially when you need to have a UK telephone number. Can see why they have given up, but it's damned inconvenient for many of us.

Take a look at Voipfone. You can port your existing skype 'landline' number, £3 +vat a month, PAYG rates for outbound calls 1p per minute to uk landlines, 7p to mobiles. Their customer service is excellent.

What will people like me do, who don't have a Skype number, or is it compulsory.

Can you transfer Skype contacts to Microsoft Teams?
Your chats and contacts will automatically transfer to Teams Free when you log in with your Skype credentials.

There's also 'Viber' that has an app for phones & also for pc/computer.
you can call free to other people who have the app, and quite cheaply to UK landlines or mobile numbers.
Not sure whether you can have a UK number for people to call or not - I didn't look that far
