Hi, any ideas where I would find Turkish design tiles. I’m looking to tile a table top.

There used to be a small shop on the RHS near the bottom of what we call The Mobile Phone Street in Girne. They stocked beautiful tiles, rugs, small tables, stools and hanging lamps and copper bits and pieces. It looked and dark and dismal from outside but inside it was like Aladdins Cave. Over the last couple of years they could well have closed by now but certainly worth a look. Good luck.

There is a tourist souvenir shop on the way to the old harbour, just past the casino. It's actually round the corner from the shop mentioned previously, so if you can't find tiles there it's another place to look. I think they might be expensive there though, it being for tourists.

Benjaminbutton are you thinking of Fanus he sells lights, rugs and other things. We have our lights from him
The shop in the harbour is very expensive

Depends where you are but yes the one down in the harbour close to the dome has an excellent selection it looks quite small from outside but two storeys, but quite pricey and won't give a discount however many you buy and we have bought a lot. If you are in lefkosa there is a shop right by the big mosque, cheaper but not so much choice.

The Old Bazaar is the one along near the Harbour, can be expensive but some things are reasonable and you can always have a good conversation with them. Bought a lot of Mosaic Lamps from Tayfun in Fanus over the years. I forget the number of times he's told me the story of the Papyrus Papers on the shelf - I still don't think he's sold any, but again, a good conversation.
