Desperately trying to find salad cream, getting a dangerously low bottle.

I think it's been missing for a while. Vaguely remember a post about it a wee while ago, and someone posted a recipe.

Des, I got a large 570ml bottle over south yesterday, cost 3.7euro (170tl). My need not urgent, so if you want it happy to let you have it for same.
I am in Zeytinlik (West side of Girne).

Give the recipe a go. I;m going to try it once I have squeezed the Tesco bottle dry. I can't tell the difference between Heinz and Tesco and way cheaper.

It's amazing the things that I make that I couldn't get here over the years and often have found home made is much better. So much so, that I always make rather than buy, shortbread, oatcakes, vegetarian Worc sauce to name but a few. Never have found the perfect Branston pickle recipe though.

That's why Branston say they have a secret ingredient but I thought all ingredients were supposed to be published on the label.?

The ingredients are on the label, but they don't say which herbs and spices they use, plus there are other ingredients which would be difficult to source here.
I have a great recipe for mushroom ketchup, which is a bit like Worc sauce, but vegetarian. Only thing is you need masses of mushrooms and it would cost a fortune. I fiddled about a bit with a recipe I found for veg Worc sauce, just wasn't right until I added balsamic vinegar and that worked. Makes the kitchen stink for a bit though.

lol, thanks benjamin; in the end my husband got the recipe and made his own, not perfect of course, but very tasty, so enjoyed it, now he wants to stay with home made instead of searching out all the shops, it was worth the effort!

So not sure where your hubby looked but def still there aisle 11 under the Heinz tomato sauce. I was begining to think I had dreamt it As of today.

Helen, tweak the recipe I posted by adjusting the seasoning, sugar and mustard until it is - perfect. 90% of the fun in making your own is to be had in analyzing what tweaks to make and the satisfaction that ensues when, not only is the result great but it is superior...

sorry buddy he cer;tainly didn't see it, but he did follow Grouchos recipe which was very good; left out the sugar as Im diabetic, but it certainly boosted my salad, so thank you, he'c committed now to producing different types of salad cream - oh dear, lol

So went to aisle 11 and still no salad cream just mayonnaise.
