Did I dream this, men not allowed on beaches without being accompanied by a female

Customers are having their grandson and his friend visit. I am sure someone had problems entering beach premises as they were men and no woman accompanied. I can not remember the whole story but others had come across this guideline
I have suggested they check before dropping them off to save embarrassment.

Funny enough I noticed if you book say a cabana or beach club bed etc with a certain hotel online now they expressly say you can't be an unaccompanied Male which quite frankly i think is a joke!!
I'm sure it's sexist.
We are obviously all rapist spiking thugs... tbh I'd rather stay at home than pay the inflated prices anyway (sadly).

If you’re talking about the hotel I think you are….. then it could be because of an “incident” last year not a “joke” if you were the victim. They are keeping people safe

Unfortunately as with everything all innocent tarred with same brush

They had this problem at the water slide park in Catalkoy. Men from the army paying for the day and ogling the girls all day became a problem

I hope that applies the other way around as well - No females allowed unless accompanied by a male! After all I don't want to take my wife to the beach and then have dozens of young ladies congregated around me staring at my 78 year old body - it would ruin my day, not to mention my health when my wife noticed - lol.

I gather it is mainly hotels, I understand groups of men, I saw on Facebook around Eid people had highlighted large groups of men on a beach in the Iskele region which had made others uncomfortable.
Thank you for the replies, I will advise the grandparents to check before abandoning at a hotel entrance. The post I remember was several years ago, they were actually married but it didn't help them gain entry.

Many years ago, the most unpleasant bloke, that had the 'hut' selling drinks and snacks on Karakum Halk (people's) beach mainly servicing Ozankoy residents it seemed, tried the same thing. Mainly young guys (Turkish and later as the demographics changed, Pakistanis) from going on the sandy beach part, making them stay on the rocky area. yes some could be a problem 'snorkelling' too close to females, but no more rowdy that the young men from Ozankoy.

There was talk some time ago of the first hotel that would have 'islamic style' separate male & female swimming pools - think Acapulco was thinking of it as well. At the time many TC's were very concerned at this development!

Was there a hotel to be built further up from Acapulco that was going to be women only specifically for Arab women. Not even European women were to be allowed in. Did anything come of that?

Groups of men are sometimes turned away, I doubt whether a man on his own would be deemed a logistical threat.

Wearing a mankini? Who knows... ;)

I would say, avoid the beaches at weekends, especially Sundays.

I had someone to stay with me several times and I told her everytime not to topless sunbathe. She ignored me every time. It’s disrespectful and she wasn’t exactly Claudia Schiffer!

The last time was a few years ago and a group of lads walked past laughing at her. Totally oblivious.

I couldn’t blame them, it wasn’t a pretty sight!
