HIRING CAR IN UK WITH TRNC LICENCE?

I'm going to UK soon and need to hire a car for collection and drop off at the airport . I still have an in date UK licence but i have not lived there for over 4 years and don't want to be illegal.
Has anyone hired a car in UK with a TRNC licence lately and if so how. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Yes in April, I had to use my TRNC licence after my uk one which i had booked the car with was rejected as they could not credit check me. No problem apart from I had paid using my debit card. In June I ensured my credit card was not going to be rejected and either driving licence was ok.

Thank you snd1966 for your reply do you mind telling which company you used to hire the car. My head is spinning at the moment as i am looking online for prices and then the question what country do i reside in, well i know but the hire companies don't seem to know.

I have used my TRNC licence to hire in UK on several occassions with both AVIS & Hertz. Both accepted the TRNC licence as it has a photo on it. I think that as i give my TRNC address they assume that 'country of residence' is Turkey. Also i was told that they prefer a credit card rather than Debit card these days, in case you incur any parking fines etc.
hope this helps

We used europcar but unfortunately they were harsh as my existing booking I used my uk driving licence.
Last time we use alamo, who were great.
