A friend of mine took a defamation case against a third party 2 years ago. Received a written apology this week after numerous court dates.

Yes, a written apology. Most expensive letter ever received.

Our largest amount would be the house, which never has come up to expectations. Can you imagine that....... That would be a laugh wouldn't it!!

Kirk, you've got several threads running on this theme, but without any firm indication of the circumstances, it's very difficult to advise.

I realise that you may not want to prejudice any future action by making your case public at this point, but if you PM me or email me a few more details at keithcaley@yahoo.com then I'll do my best to help.

I promise that anything that you tell me will be kept confidential.

This is a link that may help you decide, by way of it explains every eventuality and how it's dealt with. This person is in Antalya, but it's about the info explained.

Personally, I think anything to do with trying to extract money from NC for personal gain is a bit like watching the frog boil. It has only been the opposite.

I do believe there was one person who claimed they were successful in suing through the NC court, but he left NC many years ago and would never divulge how he done it, who helped him. He wanted people to contact privately. I don't have access anymore to Cyprus 44 but it is still open to look. If you put in the search what you want to know it might come up. I'm really not certain but he may have gone by the name of Magicart but cannot remember the person's name. I could be completely wrong using the name Magicart. Maybe Keith might remember.

Just remembered Art Watson was the name...

Dalartokat, at about the same time there was an organisation formed by a lovely lady, small and blonde (whose name I have completely forgotten and she died of Cancer) but she took the Government on by the short and curlies and they didn't know what had happened when she went to their offices. We had a meeting somewhere and people stood up and told their tales of woe. To cut long story short, some people said that they were being scammed by their builder and a tall heavy built man stood up and told us how in fact he got back every penny he had paid his builder and was returning back to UK. Apparently he picked the builder up by his neck, gave him a good shaking against a wall and received his money back next day or so. Those were the days!!!!

Are you thinking of Marion Stokes who was Home Buyers Pressure Group....she was a very helpful person....very sad days for a lot of people who were scammed, especially those that lost a lot of money or passed away not getting their money back.

Yes, yes, it was Marion, shame on me cos I was on the Committee for a long time. I know we tried to organise a march outside Government office with our banner and she was told by police that she and some of us would be arrested as foreigners were not allowed to carry banners. Some students said we could march behind them, but nothing came of it. People who are having the problems now, think its a new problem but some of us have been fighting our corner since the day we signed our contracts. i.e. our Advocate conned us the very same day 2004.
