What documents do you need to transfer ownership please

Passport plus copy car kocan , stamp money poa or both parties

Mot and tax as well

When I sold my car last year, the new owner checked to see if there were any outstanding fines i.e. speeding or whatever and refused to buy the car until I paid up. I think it was 900tl or so.

As the previous owner is goig to UK soon. Can we get a noters letter authorisation for the transfer

Unless the situation has changed - which it might have done! -

You certainly used to be able to get a letter/form from your Muhtar stating that person 'A', ID no xxxx was selling vehicle no xxxx to person 'B', ID no xxxx

Armed with this document, the buyer could go ahead with the transfer provided that they had a copy of person A's ID (passport or whatever) plus the rest of the documentation as mentioned.

It's changed a lot Keith, those days of the muhtar, only power of attorney or seller and buyer present.
Noters also seem to of lost their power too, advocates have to draw up so much now.
