I am going into Girne tomorrow to ask that very question in the DemirDokum office. I know there are many different types to choose from but I am looking for a condensing boiler as that is what I have now. So why should I change? The main reason is that all boilers require regular service and finding good boiler service people here is very difficult, I have use a variety of different manufacturers over the years and found that DemirDokum service for their boilers is excellent - hence the change. I will let you know what happens but in the meantime have a look at this: https://www.demirdokum.com.tr/urunler/kombi-rehberi/#. Use Google translate if you need to. Good Luck.

Sorry for delay, storm damage took priority over boiler investigation's. It is difficult being a non Turkish speaker, yes even after 19 years I just can’t crack it! It’s made more difficult as there is no contact number (for sales) in Girne. The best bet is to go to the office, use Google Translate and hope customer services can understand what you want. The service engineer speaks good English if you can get to talk to him. From all my dealings with the customer service I think that the boiler I am looking for will cost around 40 to 50 thousand Turkish, including installation! No mistake here, I am going for the top of the range, most economical condensing boiler and am expecting to pay £1000 at the maximum, all the other models are cheaper. They will come out and survey your needs if you want them to as well. Hope this helps.

Sadly, other things have now taken priority over boiler replacement as my boss wants me to do other things first - guess the imminent end to cold weather has made her forget how cold this last winter has been😂!

I know its a long time ago BUT I finally made it down to the DemirDokum shop. Firstly it seems all the staff have changed so English is a non starter there. Google translate got them as far as a site visit and they sent me a quote - in Turkish - to replace my Ariston Cares X24 FF with a Demirdokum 28Kw Nitromix Boiler. A good boiler and much better than the one I have. But as the price in Turkey is between 42,000 and 55,000TL and the quote was over 92,000 I was a little surprised. I live here so understand the cost of imports and of course there is cost of installation as well. Meanwhile, we have both sent our passports away for renewal and that is going to take weeks so getting cash from our bank is a non starter. To end the whole thing I have put a new boiler on hold for now whilst I seek another supplier - anyone know of a supplier/fitter I would be happy to hear from you???

Even with the shipping cost it would be far cheaper to import one from the UK a lot more choice too

TAC, agreed but then who would fit it? Not me for sure as gas is far too dodgy to play with - lol.

Vaillant are very good. We have had their combi boilers for 20 odd years and their service is efficient.

It would be a easy job to do for any plumber here as you have the pipe work in place just might need a adjustment in the pipe work

Also the gas here is not the same as the UK nowhere near the same pressure hence why you can't go too high on the boiler side as the gas here there is not enough pressure to cope also you can smell the gas here unlike the UK'S

I fully agree with cjtill Valiant are very very good. Their boilers are excellent and most of all their programmer is easy to understand For eg if you only want the hot water to boost for an hour only just select it and press, same for heating. Their fitters are also very good and clean, They also install a gas shut off valve as a safety net which really is a must. Sorry cannot give a price for their boilers as they all vary per your size requirement

All good ideas guys BUT I live in the TRNC - so where are the Valiant/WorcesterBosch fitters here and how about spare parts and the guarantee. If not fitted by a professional and the first setup not completed by them then you have no guarantee at all! Cost of the equipment can end up costing you much more if an untrained person fits it - bodge it and scarper still exists out here - but thanks for all the help.

Yes in Lefkosia ask for Serhat BATILI (DIRECTOR) He is very good also no problem with spare parts.
I have had my Vaillant in for 10+ years and having it serviced every 2-3 years I have only ever needed one part which was about 50Tl back then

Tanky, many thanks for that information, just what I was looking for. Sad to say that I tried to contact DemirDokum via WhatsApp again and have had zero response! Guess the staff/management have changed there and no longer have interest in non Turkish speakers - my how times have changed! Time is money as they say and I need this problem sorted so now I will seek assistance from Serhat. Again, many thanks.

Tanky, not yet - just waiting for our new passports to come back from the UK before we do anything else. Sat in limbo right now with lots to do but being very careful what we do till we find out if we can stay or have to go! Happens every two years so used to it by now - lol.
