I'm on the premium plan with Revolut (£7.99 a month) and that includes a number of free subscriptions including Nord VPN. I don't know how much it costs normally but if you've got a Revolut card might be worth considering. The premium plan gives quite a few perks like higher monthly withdrawal limits and exchange limits plus discounts on airport lounges. Google it.
Going back to Nord, we found it great on our devices.

I have tried various VPNs including free ones, but NORD comes out the best of the bunch. Its not as cheap as some, but its reliable, includes some extras which could save you from becoming infected/hacked, and it does not slow your system down (as some others do). So far it is compatible with all the devices it have used it on.

I am on the Revolut Premium plan as well, costs £80 a year as a one time payment annually! Don’t bother with VPNs as dont seem to have a use for them! The Premium Revolut suits us better than the free one.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

I've got smartdnsproxy.com and use the smartdns for watching UK tv. VPN seems to be fine too. Used it for years here. You get a 14 day free trial, no card needed for that. Rarely had a problem, but when some channels block it, they sort it out quickly. Communications are good and normally pretty quick.
I also have free Windscribe (you get 10GB free if you supply email address). It's great if you just need it for some websites but not obviously for streaming. Paid version available. No issues with it at all.
Surfshark seems to be good, got access to that too. Not tried Nord or Express.
