Heres the cunning plan to raise revenue...

Berova, also outlining the government's revenue-boosting plan, stated that they will take steps regarding financial transaction tax regulations, asset amnesty, dividend implementation, revaluation of inventories and real estate, accelerating the conversion of pending contracts into title deeds, and combating the informal economy. He noted that a total revenue of nearly 20 billion TL is expected from these measures.

If they are 3 billion TL short a month, that’s 36 billion TL a year. Great they have plans to raise 20 billion TL, where’s the other 16 billion TL (£260 million) going to come from? Or am I missing something?

Maybe they need to have fewer people sitting about doing non jobs.Maybe look at efficiency!

Very good point..thats also in the press quite a bit..no shows...apparently many just missing in action...

I think things are pretty bad as i did see an article saying salary cuts will be implemented from the top...starting at mps...ironic really as part of the reason for the deficit is the huge rises they keep awarding themselves..which is what happens when you let populists run the country oblivious to financial realities

Still they are not as daft as some as they dont allow every tom dick & harry to come here and hand out benefits whilst their veterans lie in tents on the high streets.

I don’t think the U.K. leads the world in efficiency but the Public Sector wage bill there works out to about £330 per month per head of the population. Out here the figure is around £390.
It doesn’t sound outrageously more until you factor in that the NHS swallows up 40-45% of the U.K. bill & the Armed Forces are another 3-4% of the bill.

So as awful as the UK is at budgeting the TRNC is twice as bad.
