Im not overfond of them, but yesterday I had five in one room (they all died within minutes of being sprayed) BUT its the size this year, they are Granddads. I had to laugh when one was actually peeping at me from behind a bathroom tap.

Its the time of the year when the Beledeysi send their squads around the houses to do the spraying in the drains and also apply the killer liquid onto the pipes in kitchen and toilet cupboards. Its very good and it is all free. We had our squad yesterday and a very good job they did here in Girne.

Our squad of lovely lads came yesterday but we were on our way out so actually missed them. Next time we go to our muhtars office we will ask them to come again. Its defo cockroach weather. Fortunately we have only had 3 dead ones so far.

Its the fact they seem so huge this year. If they have been round this part of Alsancak, then I've missed them. First time for years if i have. Will pop into the Belediye next week and check.

İ don’t understand why people wait / rely on their belediye to do the necessary wrt cockroach issues at their residence.

Everything the belediye use are available at most if not all yapı markets.

The solutions and gels are not prohibitively expensive.

Think Nike. Just do it.

I was not complaining about the Belediye not coming yet, but had I missed them. . My initial comment was what appears to be their increase in size this year. Yesterday I had a face to face with another one in the middle of the dining room. It was a case of Can you run quicker than I can give you one quick squirt in the face. I won. They don't like it up em. Mr Mainwaring. There does seem less and less as the summer wears on.

Wash your internal floors with a cap full of this to each bucket of water and floor cleaner used…

Wash your balconies / patios with a cap full of this to each bucket of water and floor cleaner used…

Repeat each time you wash the floors, inside and out. Ignore when told “lasts up to three months”.

Yapı markets sell both these products.

Thank you A1, will look out for them. Frightened to say anything, but so far 1. Always seem to come from what I think is, where the pipe comes out of the wall to washing machine. I can't see properly as it's quite a small space under the stairs. I just gave the area a good blast with Sertex and so far, so good and keeping everything crossed. They are horrible things.

Our cats are fine with the use of these products.

A cautionary approach would be to allow the washed areas to dry before allowing pets to wander. It is what we do.

The a cockroach chaps turned up out of the blue two days ago. Thank goodness they did because I had just been badly bitten by a neighbours dog. In all the kerfuffle in to getting to hospitals for dressings and and jabs,I'm not absolutely sure whether house was done or not, but matter not they were so helpful, They didn't take me to hospital as they needed to finish our road.

Locals says I should have intermediately called the police but you don't think of things like like that when there is blood dripping all over the place.
Anyway dressings, jabs and anti i bios are working. Sorry, have moved off cockroaches.

Glad you are ok BB. Yes you should have called the police, as the dog may have previous form. You are right though, you don't think of that when you are injured, in a state of shock and blood everywhere.
