Car Rental Scam - you've been warned.

When you hire a car here photograph all panels in high resolution upon collection (video is probably too low but can't harm in addition to real high-res still images).

Every existing scratch needs to be identifiable and documented - because, when you return it, even though you haven't added any new marks, they will claim that you have damaged the car even though it was already a patchwork of existing scratches none of which have been fixed using the money extorted from previous renters in this scam.

Needless to say my friends who have used this company about 20 times over the years, will no longer do so.

Warn your friends.

This used to be a common occurrence when we rented cars to holiday in the South, but it's never happened to us here, which is why we always use the same company.

We have used Bird rentacar for over 20 years, the price includes collision damage waiver, we have had a couple of mishaps without it costing us.
I don't know if others include CDW but worth looking into before you hire from anyone

Groucho, does the car rental in question run a coffee/cake/pastry establishment as well?
