Found out yesterday that despite me paying for State Medical Insurance in December 2025, valid until Dec 27, it's not in the system at Famagusta State Hospital. Can anyone help with what to do to get it on the system? No help at hospital regarding what to do. If it makes any difference I have 5 year exemption.

Can't you just login online to the TRNC MINISTRY OF HEALTH AUTOMATION SYSTEM with your Foreign Identification Number and show them?

Alphamike, we had the same problem at Lefkosia state hospital after we had paid for our state health insurance l ..but when we checked with relevant government department, they confirmed it was on the system! The insurance only covers you for emergency treatment, does not apply to any other appointments, consultations or tests, just emergency care.

Thank you very much techtrader and aerhere. I've got the printout of health insurance when I paid, but was told it wasn't on system at Famagusta. I doubt I will be covered actually as it's for very expensive medication. Dr had said with state health insurance I could get percentage off, but from what you are saying, it appears not. To be fair I didn't think it would cover it, but no harm in trying. However, I still have to make sure I am on system, just in case of emergency.
Where do I actually call/go to check that I am on the system, or get myself on?
I've tried to log in to TRNC health automaton system and it's not letting me. Aaaargh!

If you are removed to the state hospital for immediate accident care, the system will recognise your state insurance. Once stabilised, you are then liable for costs.

That's great thank you Butterfly, just really want to make sure I am logged. Now just have to find out the cost of medication, as there was none at Famagusta State Hospital pharmacy, and it's only available in hospitals not any pharmacy. Mind you when I do find out the cost, I may need emergency treatment!

The 'system' they were referring to would be the state register which covers those who pay local national insurance or are retired, thus entitled to state subsidised healthcare.

Just to add that when making an appointment at the state hospital and registering when you arrive for your appointment, you must give them the 10 digit number starting with 9 that is/was on your residency permit below the barcode.
