Bought all the necessary safety bits and pieces and got a Turkish friend to take it down this morning. All four tyres are too old, nothing to do with tread, they were OK, just age. I'm gutted.

check your tyre date, depending on the date you could argue, if there is a lot of tread.

Same happened to me a week ago.

What's wrong with the for sale section.

Bought four new tyres, (have a small old car so didn't have to buy top of the range expensive ones). So far I haven't been able to ascertain the age of them as there seems to be an awful lot of wordage to check on. Had inside and out thorough cleaned, plus engine clean and exhaust checked 240.624 pounds in total and I'm happy with that. I have a friend who has a cheaper invoice, but her garage does it all for her. A bit like POACHER TURNED GAME KEEPER!!!

I learned yesterday in the Official Gazette it hasn't mentioned 3 or 5 or whatever age but it does say something along the lines of TYRE MUST BE FAILED IF IT HAS REACHED ITS ECONOMIC LIFESPAN., Which could be open to interpretation I suppose.

The tyre life span is relative to the sun degradation as well as the milage and ware done
Plus buying in badly stored stock from other countries
Russia found out China tyres poor spec in their 2 week war with Ukraine
Think of it as carton of milk stored badly in the sun or for too long you would not drink it
Same health risk is a palm print of the tyre between you and a crash
I do not have tyres repaired only replaced

Finally remembered to check date on car tyres 3323. Tyres and tread look fine. Will I get away with tyres of 3 years old or should I buy new before MOT?

I think you were unlucky. I went last Friday; I was there for less than 3 minutes. Headlights, indicators, brake lights. Youve passed !!!!

Went for MOT in Iskele yesterday. 1 minute. Just checked if I had triangle.
