Have put a comment on this. I reckon lots of us have had it - well I certainly had a swine of a flu that too,k 3 weeks to get rid of, and so have many others I know. So maybe it is the very vulnerable as Kemal who go under, whereas it may well be a much weaker version than 2009. Let's hope so.

I'm going through a really nasty bout of flu at the moment, horrendous headache, sore throat, dry cough, every joint in my body feels as if its twice the size it should be. I wish I could stay in bed and "sweat it out", but sadly there are too many demands on my time These things can take up to 3 weeks to go away and I suspect people like Kemal are not able to fight them off.

you poor thing. Ye,s you have got it. The same symptoms as I, only yours sound worse. talking to others who have had it, it definitely seems like the symptoms for Swine Flu . It is wearymaking, but hope you get well soon. Take care. Cossett yourself as much as you can, but I know wha tyou mean about not being able to take to your bed. Just get as much sleep as you can at night!

The flu bug has ripped through the UK over the last couple of months – plenty of empty spaces in the supermarket shelves where the Lemsips etc should be. It’s very likely that this is being transported by plane to many other places; certainly we were in Cyprus for a long weekend under two weeks ago and we definitely caught the bug on the plane, with it hitting us three days later and we are still struggling now! Out again in three weeks and hope we have more luck next time.

Oh dear Hawkeye. Hope you are 100% O.K. by the time you travel again. Three weeks seems to be the norm of this flu, so hopefully you will manage to shake it off as several others of us have.
Get well soon.
