Village of Tepebaşı hosts Tulip Festival next weekend

Next weekend, the village of Tepebaşı (or Yorgoz, as many Cypriots call it) will celebrate the 9th annual "Cyprus Tulip" Festival. The tulip, shown below, apparently only grows in Cyprus and in particular in the fields around Tepebaşı, about 2km to the west of Çamlıbel.
The tulip, known by Turkish Cypriots as the Medoş lalesi or as the Yorgoz lalesi, is under protection and indeed this is the main purpose of the festival - the organisers want to remind the public not to pick the flowers or to buy them from anyone.
At 10am on Saturday, March 16th, to mark the start of the festival there will be a procession from the village's "Tulip Statue" to the village primary school, where most of the weekend's events will take place.
Besides conservation groups, there are cycling and mountaineering clubs supporting the event. These groups will apparently cooperate to organise six nature walks/tours over the weekend.
At 4pm on Saturday, March 16th, a band called SOS will give a 2-hour concert in the school yard. Over the weekend there will be other performances by, amongst others, the Lefkoşa Türk Belediyesi Pop Orchestra. There will be also be folk, modern and latin dance shows.

For further information about the festival, I'm sure our beloved Yorgozlu will be more than willing to answer your questions.
