Residency renewal - how soon beforehand?

I saw a post a while back saying that you can renew residency one month before it's due and I wanted to check whether this is correct or not as I can't find the post now. Also I know you have to fill out a form - can you get it when you turn up in Lefkosa to do the renewal (we are both over 60)? Again, thanks for any help.

Yes, you can do the form while there - and you can also download one from the BRS website., but dont sign it if you do, they like you to sign in front of them

While I was there in January I asked what was the earliest one could go in for renewal and both the ladies behind the desk where we were said 2 weeks - but I have heard of other people going in before that. If in doubt, and want more help and you live near Girne go and speak to the Immigration police there - they can be helpful - and if the reason for going earlier is because of going abroad, take tickets to show them - that might help!!

Thanks very much for that information. We'll pop into the Girne immigration office to see what's what, as I'm off to the UK for a couple of days in late April and wouldn't mind renewing my residency if I can before I leave.
