Healthcare for a baby
My daughter and Son in law have decided to join me in the TRNC they have jobs set up etc etc but the only thing that is worrying us is they also have a 7 month old girl. My granddaughter was born with a large strawberry birthmark on her forehead and often sees the doctor and the odd trip to the hospital to keep an eye on this.
Does anybody have any advice as to how we would transfer her care check ups etc. Should I be looking into private healthcare here for her and where would I start or do I just book appointments and pay as we go. Obviously her care comes first and we are also discussing postponing altogether. Your thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Healthcare for a baby
Good morning dandelite. My grandchildren are living over here, in fact one of them was born here. My daughter has found a very good
pedeatrition as our granddaughter suffers from bronchial problems.
When she visits the doc., she pays 80tl. This 80tl last for a month, in which time she can re visit the doctor if needed.
You also have the choice of going to the local hospital with your granddaughter and seeing the determatologist. This will cost you 15tl
each visit.
I hope this helps, xx

Dandelite, I too am a very happy Nana. My grandaughter, Jaya attends a creche twice a week, in Alsancak, just opposite Atakara. It's run by Turkish ladies, and Jaya has a lovely time She's there from 8 until 4.30, and she's already learning Turkish, she's two years old.
I'll ask my daughter how much she pays for the two days to give you an idea.

Just spoken to my daughter, it's 20tl for half day, or 28tl for a full day. Including breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Re: Healthcare for a baby
Hope your daughter and family have a great new life here. I forwarded this onto my daughter, who has an 8 month son who needs to go back to work. She lives in Surrey and nurseries there are between £1000 and £1500 per month!!!!!!! She is of course now looking at options and probably return to Cyprus in next year or so.

Awww thank you Rocking for your well wishes. She is very nervous shes only 19 so its a big step for them. I just want to make this transition as easy as I can for them.
If your Daughter wants an update in the near future just holla, This may give her some peice of mind for her return back here if all goes well. Its can be daunting with a baby

Why would she want to wait so long and she will have her Mum here (baby sitter) Just think what she can do with £1000/£1500 all the child care she needs, good luck to her. also look at the weather!!

Re: Healthcare for a baby
dandelite, just seen your message, I will get the info in the morning and post it on here.
Jaya developed bronchial pnemonia when she was 3 months old, to be honest, we nearly lost her, don't go there.
The local Girne hospital were brilliant, we saw two pediatritions, the second one is a very up to date modern one, doesn't agree with giving medicine for the sake of it, i.e. antibiotics.
I'll post his name and telephone number tomorrow, he's fab.

Re: Healthcare for a baby
The pediatritions name is Doctor Hussain, he's at Kyrenia medical centre. He also works from the Girne hospital.
My daughter's phone has died, so she can't retrieve his number until it's been mended. I'll post the number when it's
fixed.
