I-Player problems again

My I-player has been stable for around 7 weeks now but yesterday it had lost all the downloaded programmes & would not record anything new. It took me about an hour of deleting, reinstalling, rebooting both I-player & Adobe Air to get it back up & working.
My computer is turned off overnight & on switching on this morning all the programmes have disappeared again I was going to email BBC but am not sure if I am watching illegally as it asks if you are in UK or abroad?
Anyone else having problems or can make any suggestions other than not turn the computer off once I have it working again?
