Starting to think about next winter and fitting a sober with glass doors , we have an open fire at present and it does not give enough heat , any suggestions of where to go where they will tailor to our requirements .

of subject the person who called the miners scum wants to be very careful , they are ex miners living here who i dont feel would take kindly to being called scum and being from that part of the world with many mining friends i to am very offended to hear such language .

Can't help with your problem, chelwood, except to say that calling decent, hard-working miners "scum" reflects more on the person making the comment than it does on people I call the salt of the earth.

Philoz. I fink "cast iron sober" is a delusional state brought about by a distinct lack of alcohol. I know nuffink about fires !

Not sure if all this is a wind up so I will take the plunge and pay for it after. I understood it to be a Cast Iron Soba (Soba meaning fire as in gas fire, electric fire log fire etc... in Turkish).

OK, you can all attack me now.....
