IVF pioneer, Sir Robert Edwards, has died aged 83.

He, with Dr Patrick Steptoe, helped develop a technique in the 70s that brought more than 4million much wanted children into the world, the first being Louise Brown.

Thank you for the joy you helped bring into the world. RIP.

And while I'm at it- what's with the '4 million more wanted children'
for God's sake the planet cannot feed the ones it has .
Why not try adopting unwanting children , of which there are millions worldwide.

I give up; I really do. You two obviously have no idea whatsoever, do you?

Oh, and who is "lapta", i.e. "where did he live lapta". Also, 'while I am at it' what is the meaning of the word "capitol"?

I knew Bob Edwards and he was a lovely man who bought so much hope and joy to many people. RIP.
It's a shame some people need to make glib comments about a man who had such compassion and helped so many.

It is a sad old world, the death was announced of a politician, who's actions brought misery and suffering to many thousands of people.

There were many posts speaking of peoples sadness at the news of her death and condolences to her family, and woe betide anyone who spoke otherwise.

Yet the news of the death of a good man is treated with so much disrespect.

Whether or not you agreed with what he did, through his pioneering work, he brought hope and joy to thousands of people and for that he should be remembered with respect. RIP.
