I did not open this link as I do not need a UK passport, I was just reporting the changes.
I am one of the lucky ones who are in the system here in the North. I will not be returning to the UK.

I wont be returning to the UK either but authorities here need you to have a passport of your country of origin. You need it for driving licences and visas etc and if you travel any where else. A kimlik card is not acknowledged every where.

Deniz1.

With a Kimlik card you are a TRNC citizen not a UK citizen.
I travel to Turkey on the card and stay as long as I like, I can purchase property were I like and not in the expat areas.
I do not need a UK passport anymore, mybe a Turkish one later when Turkey takes this part of the Island.

Can anyone explain why a passport applied for from TRNC costs £128 whilst a passport applied for in the UK is £72.50 ????? ..

Passports can be applied for at least 9 months before it expires .. With a bit of planning, someone who doesn't live here 24/7 but come out 2/3 times a year could help with obtaining a passport renewal ..

Is it illegal would you be breaking any laws .. I have just done ours at a cost of £145 for the 2 & it took 3 weeks ..

I'll have a word with some friends .. Maybe for the price of a couple of pints they will help if anyone needs it ..

The difference between TRNC & the UK application is £55.50 per passport .. "Do me a favour"
