POSSIBLE ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AT KARSIYAKA

This is to inform residents mainly in Karsiyaka that there are possibly, burglars at work. This morning at ten past midnight, I was awakened by one ring (DING _ DONG) on my front door bell. It took me a short while to get from the bedroom to the front door, turning on the necessary lighting on route. When I got there, there was no sign of anyone. I live in the back roads of Karsiyaka and to have arrived at my front door a person would either have to scale a wall (only five foot high) or slide open the gate and cross 30 meters of open driveway, which is well light by a street lamp opposite. So it would seem that a logical explanation of this happening was that someone wanted to find out if anyone was in residence, so be warned and be safe.

Thanks for that info. Something useful and helpful is always welcome. I live in Karsiyaka and although I have two dogs it's nice to have a 'heads up'.
TVM.

The start of your story is exactly like mine 3 years ago. Also Karsiyaka. 1 ding, just after midnight - but when I opened the door there was a guy sitting with his back to it and he immediately asked me to call the police. He was Turkish and had very little English; he seemed drunk and was badly scratched. I got him inside and while I waited for the police (they couldn't find the house) I got a story that he was here for a conference, staying in the Merit (he showed me his room card) and had been mugged.
I couldn't understand any more and the police interview, conducted at my kitchen table, was all in Turkish. Eventually the police took him away (with courtesy) but they refused to tell me what had happened.
I never found out.
