German Shephard with brown collar
Hi,
A GS has appeared at the beginning of the road to Kayalar and is wearing a brown collar. Friendly , but a bit wary of men? Fed it today and poor soul was starving.
Anyone know if someone has lost a GS, not sure if it's been dumped or is lost.
Thanks
Moyra

Perhaps you could telephone KAR and give a description, you never know. Yet another lost dog with collar but no tag with name or contact number - no point in that is there? Kayalar is one of the favourite places to dumo animals, having said that there are a lot of farmers in the Kayalar area who don't exactly over feed their dogs.

Can you post a picture of him? Has Boo's owner been contacted by email via the forum?

Having seen dozens and dozens of this type of dog i.e G.S plus whatever, it does appear to be the type of dog the shepherds use for herding. They only need to put a foot out of place and they are booted out to fend for themselves I'm afraid. Any chance people could get together and adopt him as a sort of Communal dog and you all take a turn at feeding and Frontlining him?

We are feeding him, but didn't see him/her today or yesterday! I get the impression he's been a pet cos he's so friendly, but I may be wrong.
Would love to see him/her adopted, any takers our there?

Re: German Shephard with brown collar
I've been looking at the picture carefully and I've been wondering. There is a black of flats not far from us (Alsancak) and they had a GS which was kept on a small balcony facing the sea, month after month, through all the winter storms, snow the lot. No protection whatsoever other than to crouch below the balcony wall if it could. The owners were/are Casino workers who sometimes didn't come back for a couple of days, so lord only knows what food or drink it received. Two weeks ago I heard someone from the flat calling and calling out a name and I haven't seen the dog since. If it is the same and it does appear that it might be, then to be honest he/she is better off as it is believe me. There would be no shade against the sun at all on this particular balcony and the dog would have had a really miserable life.
