I've more or less got to grips with Apps and all the bits and pieces, but I can't read it in the sunshine, or even light shade. Twice now in 3 days I've rung the wrong people because I can't make out who is who in the address book, nor can I read or send texts without making a complete hash of them. It can't just be me surely, others of you must have the same problem. I really am beginning to wish I'd kept my old phone!!

I am constantly rejecting my Wife's suggestion that I buy a more complicated phone!
All I want to be able to do is send text messages or make phone calls when I am away from my landline. Also is a quadband, so I can use it when we visit the USA.
She is constantly replacing hers with something more complicated. I don't want to surf the internet, although I do have internet on mine.
She can't understand!

The problem is that the people that design all these gadgets are all in their 20s with perfect eyesight.
You can buy a basic mobile with huge buttons that are backlit.
As for other appliances, having realised over the years that you don't use all the features on anything (eg washing machines), I now buy the most basic model of everything, from experience they are cheaper to buy and last longer because they don't have as much to go wrong!

My problem is not that I need large keys, its the fact that in sunshine it is impossible to read and decipher where the touch icons are when the screen is black. I don't have this problem in daylight back in the UK as the sun is rarely that bright!!

Sophie- most phones have a 'voice activated' function-so you only need to say the name and it will ring the number, thus solving the sunlight problem.
I must admit the early versions were a bit dodgy,I once called a friend called 'Polly' (short for Pauline) and the police answered.

No its not in iPhone, but I'd forgotten about the voice activation bit. I haven't got round to setting up a Google account either for Emails etc. Thanks Philoz.
