A friend of mine had to go to Lefkosia Hospital today after a piece of meat got stuck in his gullet. I must praise the service and treatment he received we waited about 10 minutes in emergency he was seen by a doctor had blood taken then had to have an endoscopy to get it removed as it was to far down to reach. Even water would not get past it. Everyone was very helpful both doctors spoke excellent English and it was very clean on the emergency ward. The best part for him was there was no charge at all. His wife has threatened him with divorce if he eats a pork chop again.

I'm so glad you friend was treated as well as he was. There is far too much negative news about state hospitals, which I'm sure have improved out of all recognition in th 8+ years we have been here. Tell your friend not to give up pork chops altogether, just smaller pieces, chew well and don't talk with his mouthful!!

Thats really why I posted about this there are so many negative comments. Medical services have come on in leaps and bounds since i have been here (12yrs). My friend is an elderly gentleman so its scary for him also its the second time this has happened to him in recent years. They were very kind to him so well done doktorlar.
