Hi Kibkomers. Want you all to keep your fingers crossed for my Pointer TAG. She decided to have an argument with a Blunt nosed viper this morning and the snake(now killed by Tag) won. She was bitten in 3 places and is now on a drip at Petcross. She is very swollen and there is a lot of poison in her. Firdez I know will do everything to save her.
Will let you know asap of any news

All the best Tag. Our friend's dog was bitten last year by viper, took a long while to get over but did make it. Think positive.

Thanks everyone for your support. She is a fighter( I mean strong)She was a street dog until we rescued her in 2005 and was No 007 one of the first. Has had a skin problem for years and need injections every month to control it. I will NOT give up hope.

Oh dear, SOOOO sorry to hear that. Hope she fights good and hard, and I know that the vet is a super loving lady who will help Tag fight too.
(By the way RR have deleted your duplicate post as I understand you had a bit of a prob - although double sympathy is well worth having.)

Everything crossed for a successful outcome.
We went through the trauma of having a cat bitten by what we think was a spider. Unfortunately because she had cat flu as a kitten her immune system eventually just gave up after a week of fighting. So I can genuinely say "I know how you are feeling right now".
Lots of positive thinks coming your way from me, her and our four owners.

Yes, they are out all over the place now that the weather is hot. Unless the dogs are in our garden they are never let off the lead and if you are out walking particularly if it is an unmade up road, then take a stick. The snakes will react to the vibration of your walking plus the tap of a stick and get out of the way, alternatively they will do what one I saw three days ago. It froze in the middle of the path, with its head slightly held up until we had passed. It then quickly moved into the greenery at the side of the path. I do hope that TAG makes a complete recovery and he's certainly in the very best place under the circumstances. I'm not sure what number we're up to now but its definitely in the hundreds.

Hi Kikomers.I have been trying to post for 2 days and always logged off. Incidentally Tag was on her own property ,not off a lead on a walk.
She has spent the weekend at Firdez's house on a drip and is still there now. She has a lot of poison in her and is still very swollen, They are not sure how much damage has been done to her internal organs & until she is stronger and they can do more tests. So sorry everyone it is still fingers crossed and Marions, you will have to re-learn to type with crossed fingers.

Hi KIbkomers. Well she is still fighting on. Still on a drip and very jaundiced. Firdez is taking her home again tonight, to keep an eye on her. Where on Earth would you find such a dedicated vet? So it's still fingers crossed, but Marions can just pray!!

Hi Kibkomers. Last nights jubilation was somewhat premature. Tag is back with Firdez on a drip again. She came home last night but didn't eat anything. This morning she didn't want any of her favourite biscuits (a bad start) Later in the morning she was very unsteady on her legs and was drinking a lot of water during the morning. She was taken back to Petcross at lunch time and blood tests were taken. They show severe liver damage and she still has a lot of poison from the bite in her system. So sorry everyone it is back to the fingers crossed (except for Marions)she can just pray!!

I am so sorry Owl Lady, I am knowing how you must be feeling at the moment, but Petcross are excellent and if anyone can get her through this they can, so stay positive, my thoughts and wishes are with you and Tag at moment, and hopefully your next post will be that things are improving and she is coming home, lots of love to you both xx

Hi Kibkomer, thanks for your messages, means a lot. Went to see her at lunch time, she was on another drip and when it finished walked her around the car park. Barked at every cat in sight.(good sign)A blood test done this morning showed a 50% reduction in the infection. Another drip tomorrow and hopefully home tomorrow and tablets for 6 days. Then another blood test next week to check on the liver damage. Don't want to build my hopes up too much after the last time she came home, just keeping every thing still crossed

Hi Kibkomer. Just to let you know that Tag came home again last night. She ate her dinner as if it were her last meal. She has been in her basket quite a lot today, but has run out to bark whenever Shadow has. She is still on tablets for at least 6 days and then another blood test to check on the liver. Hopefully she is on the road to recovery now. Thank you all for you messages on this forum

Hi Chillin. thanks for asking. Blood test postponed until this Wednesday. Firdez is coming to the house to do it. Should know either Wednesday or Thursday. Will post with results. Tag is OK in herself, had a Chameleon for breakfast the other morning, she won't learn!!She does seem to have aged since she came back (she is 9) probably the trauma!
