What is happening with the changes at Lemar. They have the extension at the front, changing the position of everything inside,re-opening the cafe part, I think and a covered area in the car park??? ( presumably for a market???)

Yes Looseboots, it is having a makeover. Trying to be a more british style supermarket for some reason. Market stalls, british style cafe serving breakfast and carvery lunches on sunday. English produce and bread and cream cakes.

I was told that the rent for the new cafe is £1200 per month how can you make a profit after that?

Oh for the days when you could park in the shade outside Erdener and without getting blocked in, you could buy ltake away local soups made on the premises from Lemar at very reasonable prices and all the supermarkets had friendly helpful staff at the checkout who greeted you with "good morning "and a smile, insread of the current clones of the British model who stare straight through you.
It is a long time since I have been in the UK. Do they really have stalls outside Supermarkets there now?

Not in my local Sainsburys RR! They greet you with a cheery 'hello & how are you today?' or in the evening 'have you had a good day?' & you know what, after a hard day at work I really don't want to engage in idle chit chat, I want to get home, put my feet up with a nice cuppa. Having said that I do find that the older assistants in most shops are friendlier and helpful, a lot of the youngsters seem to be more interested in discussing their social life (now I'm being ageist!)

If you go into a supermarket around here, Richmond/Twickenham/Kingston/Hounslow you need to take a translator in with you ! There is every language around here apart from English, London is rapidly becoming a no go area for the English. it's unbelievable. at least in Cyprus I can make myself understood when I enter a shop !
