Is anyone else having problems accessing Cyprus Star on-line news paper?

I have managed to access it. They have changed the layout and are using very large PDF files, so depending on your internet connection, you may not be able to open the pages, even with broadband it takes a few seconds to open..... this is not good. I can understand that they want to offer crisp clear pages, but they need to reduce the resolution for screen use only from 300dpi to 72dpi. This will allow pages to be downloaded faster and should not affect the clarity.

Thanks Soner
I am using my works connection which isnt very good and does not appear to be handling the changes too well, I think I will probably have to cancel my subscription as it is only at work that I need to use it, thats a pity because it was a good way of keeping up to date with current issues when I am off the island. Thank goodness for the Kibcom BB, it will be my only connection to TRNC current issues. Keep up the good work.

Please don't panic,. I have the same problems. Guess it is having teething problems, but please all of you don't pull out your Cyprus Star teeth yet! The office is now aware of this, but as it is Sunday of course nothing can be done, but hopefully tomrorow someone will look at the problem.
I just wish that we could offer a proper Newspaper on line as opposed to a magazine, but that is something hopefully in the future, as it requires a software that we have not yet got (I believe!). However, this matter IS beinglooked into and hopefully will be resolved very soon.
So please stay with us. We DO appreciate that YOU are imporrtant. With no readers we have no reason to exist!!!

I am still having the same problem, I tried emailing by reply this morning to my original confirmation mail I received from CS at the start of my subscription, I explained the situation but have not had a reply as yet. If it persists with tomorrows edition I will have no option but to cancel my subscription, I wont be paying for a service that I cant receive!

Good News!! I have now got access to this weeks paper, it appears to me to be in the original format, they may have reverted back to this until they resolve the new format problems, the imprtant thing is that I can keep up to date with the TRNC goings-on when I am out the country.
Well done Cyprus Star.

Good, good good, Glad you are able to read now. I have just taken a look (been out all day) and you are correct in that theyhave gone back to the old formula. Don't know what they will do in the future - i will try to findout when I go into the office . (solely out of curiosity, of course). I always find it a little slow to download, but once done I can flick backwards and forwards with the pages - last week I could not.
Thanks for your patience to all those who had a problem. Hope you find the news fascinating form afar. Never a dull moment out here.!

Oh dear. As I say, I can read it O.K, but I have to wait for it to fully download or open (whatever terminology one uses).
I will pass on the message to the office, but doubt anyone will be around until Monday, and not sure who is meant to deal with it. But will get the message passed on.
Hope it rights itself. anything to do with the speed of the server????

strange! i am not an IT geek but all I can say is that it opens O.K. in mine. maybe an Ipad does make a difference, but I leave answering that one to the experts. Maybe Soner know,s cos he is a clever IT lad! As I say I have passed on a message, so........
it must be infuriating. (not that soner is a clever lad, but tha tyou cannot access something you have paid for.)

Did you have to download an ‘app’ to be able to view CS on your ipad? anytime I have tried to connect with my ipad2 I am told that I cant do it (in tech talk of course) I normally use a PC for my weekly fix but would like to have the option to use the ipad as well, when the connection problems are fixed out.
This is the second attempt with this post, dont know where my first one went!!
