Very large umbrellas?

Does anyone know where I can buy a (or two) very, very large square shaped umbrellas for shade around the pool.

The size of the ones you find outside cafes and restaurants with pepsi, carlsberg etc on, though I don't necessarily want any with advertising on!

Thankyou.

Hi Squashmad,
I have some, approximately 1.8mtr square. The base is made of concrete which needs painting. The top does not fold down . They were made by a local metalman. I have some white canvas covers for them but only suitable to use as a template for new covers. Price each 50tl. If interested phone 03928218499.

just to clalrify are you saying that each umbrella is 990 US dollars?

WOW!,allowing for a possible mistake even TL990 would be extortionate.
I bought 3x 3metre square umbrellas with wood handles and brass winders from Makro in the UK in a sale and shipped them over for £20 each two years ago-they are selling similar today full price £50-it's worth paying the excess baggage at those prices I think.

No mistake they are 990 USD ( could be 980 USD) I am sure he said that they are imported from USA.

FYI, the brollies at Burotime (awesome name) in Catalkoy are 50tl cheaper than the same ones at Tunc. Bought one on Saturday: mediumish-sized umbrella (dangly, reachy, cantilevery-style) for 250tl. Same one was 300tl at Tunc.

It's the same place I mentioned in a previous post - Garden Life, AKA Ozyuksel, Burotime, Pierre Cardin, etc. Heading towards Girne it's on RHS of straight stretch after Supreme Supermarket.

I am also in the market for a couple of large umbrellas as the ones we've had for a few years succumbed to old age this week. Only need the umbrella though not the base so if anyone has spotted any bargains please post here.

The lady at the fabric shop at the other end of the mall to credit west in Catalkoy made me a new cover for a tatty /faded old one-she did a perfect job and though it wasn't cheap @TL150, it was cheaper than buying a whole new brolly as it was a 3 meter brolly and the quality is superb.

now really fed up replacing a sequence of all different kinds of umbrellas, so, in the process of getting a quote for a more permanent shaded pool area by a superb company currently doing unrelated work for me by the name of 'Best Dreams' - I think easily found on this forum.
Will keep you all updated to progress.

H,

Being new to all of this I'm not quite sure what we can and can't do.

We want some big parasols and we were browsing around in Ikea Lefkosa for odds and ends when we saw some very large parasols-just what we wanted-for £69 Euro.

As we were on foot/bus we obviously couldn't carry one but would we be allowed to buy one and bring it through by car? What is the limit (if any) on goods you can buy over there?

Cheers

Not sure if this has changed:

Goods worth 135 euro per person for shoppers crossing RoC to TRNC.
Goods worth 260 euro per person for shoppers crossing TRNC to RoC.

Soner- you have confused me a bit now (yes I know it's easy!).
If I set off on a shopping trip from TRNC to RoC,and then return with my swag from RoC to TRNC, which one do I come under?
As I will be crossing both ways?

Well,I'm glad you understand his post 'cos I don't.

If I start off in TRNC,shop, and go RoC to TRNC-do I come into the Roc to TRNC category?
In which case I would be allowed e135.

Or,depending how you read it,if I start off in TRNC,does that put me in the 'TRNC to RoC 'category(from a round trip point of view)-In which case I am entitled to e260?

Is it just me or would it not be simpler to say-

you can export x to the south.
you can import x to the north.

Wasn't having a go Soner- just needed clarification,in a non ambiguous sort of way as I don't want a full 'rubber glove' search at the line, possibly resulting in a 'Midnight Express' experience, and resultant sore bottom.

Hi There,

Thanks for that.

Could you tell me roughly where that is-is it through the Metehan crossing?

I've been over through the crossing before but not sure where the Engomi mall is.

OK...,

Go through the crossing.

Turn right after the Greek customs onto the main road.

Follow the main road around until you come to the traffic lights at the T junction.

At T junction, turn right and continue till you come to the roundabout with the HOOPS in the centre.

At the roundabout take the first left exit.

Carry on to the first set of traffic lights keeping in the right lane.

At the traffic lights turn right.

Go on to the first traffic lights at which you can turn right.

Turn right. Then take the next turning right. The entry to the sh
