Repairing antique ring, any recommendations for jeweler ?

Hi,
Can you help ?

My wife's victorian sapphire and diamond engagement ring, of very high sentimental value, has been damaged and lost a stone. - The gold itself is worn and the stone clamps are weak through wear and almost non existent.

Does anybody here have personal experience of a local jeweler / goldsmith repairing a delicate jewelery item, and can they recommend them to me ?

Thank you
TonyE

Erdal Siver in Girne is excellent. Not particularly cheap but will make a good job. He will also let you know the cost before hand, if you ask. At the cross road going down Girne High St.,turn right toward the sea and he is about a 100 yds on the left hand side.( think it has a yellow awning)

I agree about Senak. Hussein makes all his own jewellery and the quality is fantastic. He has even made us items to our own design. He is certainly the man I would trust with my repairs.

We've used the little jewellery shop on the RHS as you down towards the Ataturk memorial in girne i.e. at the side of the entrance to the Bandabulya. He's wonderful (but talk to him personally) Antique ring made into earings and vice versa, antique rings repaired and diamond replaced and lovely necklace made to specification in 3 colours of gold.

Hi Just a quick update for those not familiar with Senac the Jewelers.

What a great person. Took the ring in on Wednesday for a "consultation" re the possibility of a repair, or maybe having to have the ring scrapped and a new setting made, both options were available.
Repairing it involved replacing the missing diamond, resetting another that was loose and about to drop, and building up the claws to retain the 4 smaller stones.
Collected it Saturday, absolutely perfect job, and it came with a warning that perhaps, because of it's age, it should not be worn any more when doing housework !

The stock that this guy has, in terms of rings, pendants, ear-rings and bracelets, designed by his wife or daughter and made by him, is quite unique, with many beautiful pieces.

Yes, he has very nice goods in the £100 - £500 bracket, but in the £1,000. - £3,000 area (no I just looked lol) the only word is stunning. - I think I would trust this guy.
best regards
TonyE

I Always use Mr Senak for jewellery repairs and his work is excellent.
He remade my engagement and wedding rings, in the same style, and I am thrilled with them. He has also made jewellery for us and his work is stunning.
A lovely family and very knowledgable on all aspects of jewellery.
I would always advise people to see him first with any jewellery query.
