Before I decorate our bungalow, we are thinking of putting in central heating. Can you give me ideas and costings for a typical winters usage for Gas, and also for electric heaters. Our air cons dont heat would it pay to change to heated?
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thanks

My biggest regret was not installing central heating when I built. No matter what the costs.

Hi Soner, Its not the installation cost I want to know, its what type, I read that gas central heating can cost between £400 and £500 a month., I would like something cheaper than that to run. At the moment I have a mobile gas fire in the living room and a halogen heater for the bedroom which dosent cost 400 - 500 a month. Thanks for your reply though.

Hi Lor.
We have central heating since we came here 7 years ago & we have a fair size villa, There is no way we pay 450 a month.

We only use it for maybe 1 hour if it is cold, we refill our gas tank approx every two years, & that is including the cooking.

We couldn't live without our central heating and it does not cost alot to run we use Gas and as above only fill gas twice a year and we cook with Gas.

We have gas central heating in our house, what is so great is that although we do not put heating on very much, we have a very large wood burning stove, with the combi boiler we have hot water all through the winter, because no matter what people say about solar panels (we have them, they are great during summer) you waste so much water in the winter waiting for the water to run hot, that is when the sun is out in winter and remember this winter was bloody cold. Sorry cannot tell you the make, husband out at the moment so cannot help you. Just make sure you have large radiators. Just send me an e mail at rita@kktc.net if you want any more information on what system we have. Best of luck.

We were here for 4 weeks in January and used very little with the heating on 12 hours a day I calculated we used about 10 litres of Gas, that was for central heating, water, gas fire in the lounge and cooking
