Massive Mobile Phone Bill

Just in case it's happening to anyone else...
I went to pay this month's bill at the Turkcell office, to be faced with a much larger than normal phone bill. I hadn't actually thought anything about it other than we must have made more calls than usual last month! But, I happened to go to customer services to ask for an itemised bill - just to check who I'd called. The girl behind the desk on customer services picked up on it right away. Last month my dad brought a mobile over for me from the UK, I swapped the SIM and carried on as normal. Apparently, this phone is an Android and will automatically connect to GPRS - unless you tell your service provider you don't want it to. It appears this phone was connecting to the internet all month without me knowing! She said some phones will do that but we have to tell Turkcell or Telsim to put a stop on it.
