A new house being built near me has an underground garage access to which is a drive in from the main road. Today they built a wall straight across the garage entrance ? No one seems to have noticed.

When I went out this morning there was a huge cement laying thing there filling in between shuttering either side of the drive when I came back the work men were gone and the drive was neatly boxed in. It made me laugh.

come on,what else to you expect.IT'S CYPRUS!!!!

Several years ago the tracks leading up to my house were being tarmaced they decided to do them all at once not half one day and half the next my neighbour called me and said dont bother to come home all the roads are closed off. She couldnt get out and I couldnt get in I spent the night in the old harbour on my friends yacht. You couldnt make it up. Not being racist but they must have been Irish/Turkish roadies.

Similiar situation but different. Last year there were some road works in Girne, needless to say, nothing to indicate which other way to go. The bloke 2 cars in front seemed to be confident, so I followed him. 200 yds later, yet another road closed. We tried 2 other ways, all were similarly closed. By now there were 6 cars in the convoy. The bloke in front stopped, got out of his car and made a phone call. He called out something in Turkish and all 6 of us followed him. 2 minutes later, we drove past the side of a house, turned a corner into what was clearly their back yard and drove out through their back gates. Great hilarity from the occupants of the house, and we found ourselves some where behind the police station. I've tried many times to figure out where we actually went and never been able to discover.

We were on holiday in Olu Deniz a good few years back - an expat was having a house built there and had told the builder that he wanted a stone wall built all the way around the house. You guessed it - when he came over there was a lovely stone wall all around the house, no gateway, or other way in unfortunately

Sounds familiar. 8 years ago we asked for a small compound for one of our dogs. Went out for a few house, came back and there wasn't a gate anywhere, just a 4ft6 wire fence all round.
