Does anyone know of a company in the UK who do World Wide, single trip, travel Insurance. The cover is for an 88 year old coming on holiday to the TRNC for 14 nights.
Thank you.

Hi Crofter,
If you have an age concern shop or office in your town, I would try there first. I had this problem with my father as he was over eighty but they fixed him up with insurance. It isn't cheap but at least you have cover and therefore peace of mind.

Thanks Squashmad. Their multi trip cover for 45 days was less than Nationwide wanted to charge me to extend an existing policy.

Squashmad, thanks for the link. My current insurers only go up to age 74, which means I have 2 more years with them.
I have just tried Bengo and got a couple of good quotes from them.

Crofter,
Why do you need Worldwide cover to come to Cyprus, you only need European cover?
Then this link will cover an 88yr old

Hi,
We have used
Infinity Insurance Solutions for the last 4 years and they have been very competitive in finding us the right cover.
Although our particular policy only goes up to 86 it may be worth sending them an e.mail.
Our contact is
barbara.potter@infinityinsurance.co.uk

Squashmad........thank you for your help. The problem with European Travel Insurance for travel to the TRNC is that only the Republic Of Cyprus is in the EU. The TRNC is not recognised by any country except Turkey so if a claim were to be made to the Insurance Company they would not pay out. We may lie within the boundaries of Europe on a map BUT we are not accepted/recognised............in other words we do not exist. No company will acknowledge a claim from a country that 'does not exist'.
I wish a policy could be taken out covering Europe as it would be so much easier to find cover for an 88 year old and at a more affordable price.
To date we are still looking for a company to provide travel insurance.

Crofter,
Email this company and ask them to confirm if the TRNC is covered under 'Cyprus'. I did have an email from them stating that travelling to and from the TRNC is covered but for the life of me I cannot find it to send onto you. This is the only reason why I use them.

Crofter,
After finding that we no longer had written confrimation that this company DOES cover the NORTH, I got my wife to email them immediately just to ensure that nothing has changed.
I hope this helps you as this is the answer we received today (26.06.13):

I queried this very thing with Infinity Insurance. They confirmed TRNC was ok and last year we made a small claim and was paid, less the excess , with no quibble.
