While I am not a member I do usually check posts on Embargoed every morning. Today it's disappeared!

Anybody have any clues?

It is still there, a minor glitch I think but it is back and up and running.

it looks like all files under the forum hosting has been deleted. This could be a mistake by the admin or a result of a sabotage.

Positive thinking: all will be restored and sorted soon

Negative thinking: all data is lost, forum can be brought back up by reinstalling, but it wont have any previous posts and all users will have to re-register from scratch.

Funny I was reading it this morning and again at lunch time. Now its gone.

I am a member but rarely look at it, but I did just now 18.25, and nothing! I will try to get in touch with the administrator but that won't generate an immjkediate answer. Let's hope it is a cyberspace glitch and not anything more nasty.

Marions no offence but you work for a newspaper The Star so how come you make so many spelling errors Lo xx

A quick update, the Embargoed Forum is in the process of being moved to a new server but whether it is with a different hosting company I do not know but there will obviously be glitches along the way.

I've accessed it Ok from UK this morning 09:00

RCoT, it's because she is extremely fast at touch typing. My wife is the same, over 100 words per minute, at that speed you inevitably make a few mistakes. It's only a forum so no need to correct.

But Soner it does not matter how fast you type as in the newspaper world there is something called proof reading. I.e. nothing gets posted until it is checked first and on this board it is up to the originator of the post to check their text before hitting the submit button.
Having said that I don't care one iota about posters making spelling or grammatical mistakes as long as I can understand what it is that they are trying to convey.

Oh and there is always the 'edit post' facility of which I find difficult to find even with my large screen.

I think Embargoed is back up according Dalartokat. So, as we are starting to go I will close this thread.
